Usage and Application

Intended for deployments where AN302 may be exposed to harsh conditions and need an enclosed box form factor.

Mounting Patterns

The Box Mount has a hole that provides a cable escape for the AN302 Ethernet cables. No additional knockout zones are provided for cables.

The Box Mount has a 3/4-inch NPT threaded mount for use with:

  • 3/4-inch NPT Cable glands
  • 3/4-inch Conduit
  • Any 3/4-inch NPT threaded pipe adapter

AH302 supports the following hole pattern for M4 or #8 self-tapping screws:

Mounting Feature Identifier: Center to Center Distance: Recommended Use with:
F 60 mm AB301 Articulating Bracket
G 97 mm

The mounting pockets F and G are 12.5 mm deep blind pockets for self-tapping screws. Using screws that will exceed the 12.5 mm depth may result in creating a hole in the Box Mount. Should this occur, pairing the Box Mount with the AH303 sealing kit may not result in a fully sealed mounting solution.

AH302 supports the following hole patterns:

Mounting Feature Identifier: Center to Center Distance: Recommended Use With:
60mm 60 mm International Single Gang Electrical Box
75mm 75 mm
3.28” 3.28 in US Single Gang Electrical Box
3.54” 3.54 in 4” Octagonal or Round Electrical Box

When using one of the above hole patterns, drilling through the Box Mount may result in an unsealed hole. Should this occur, pairing the Box Mount with the AH303 sealing kit may not result in a fully sealed mounting solution.

Mounting Instructions

General Mounting

  1. Select the appropriate hole or slot pattern for the mounting application. Or select and install the appropriate conduit.
  2. Attach AH302 with appropriate screws or via conduit.
  3. Pull any cable(s) through the back of the AH302.
  4. Allow for a service loop to remove the anchor and disconnect Ethernet cable(s).
  5. Plug in Ethernet cable(s) to anchor.
  6. Align the AN302 backplate with the threaded bosses in the AH302. Twist to adjust alignment as needed. Press together.
  7. Attach the anchor to AH302 using the captive screws. Use a T20 drive set to 0.68 N-m (6 in-lb) of torque.

Pendant Mounting

This installation example uses additional hardware that is not provided.

  1. Insert Ethernet cable(s) through the pendant pipe and AH302 Mounting Box from the exterior. Provide enough cable for a service loop to allow the anchor to be removed and disconnected.

  2. Screw the mounting box onto the pendant mount until tight.

    Step 1 Step 2
  3. Plug Ethernet cable(s) into the connectors on the back of the anchor.

  4. Align the AN302 backplate with the threaded bosses in the AH302. Twist to adjust as needed. Press together.

    Step 3 Step 4
  5. Install AN302 to AH302 using the captive screws. Use a T20 drive set to 0.68 N-m (6 in-lb) of torque.

Mounting Instructions

If using the AB301 articulating bracket, follow instructions AB301 & AH302 with AH303.

  1. Insert the sealing gasket into the groove of the AH302 Box Mount with the large “teeth” facing outwards. Verify the seal is stretched evenly.

    Step 1 View of gasket
  2. Unscrew the cap and hex nut from the 3/4-inch NPT cable gland. The hex nut will not be used.

  3. Remove the pre-installed rubber cable seal from the cable gland.

    Step 2 Step 3
  4. Screw the end of the cable gland to the AH302 Box Mount. Fully seat the flat rubber gasket onto the plastic and tighten to create a seal.

Step 4 View of cable gland fully seated
  5. Insert 1 (or 2) Ethernet cable(s) through the cap nut of the cable gland.

  6. Select either the Single cable insert or the dual cable insert for the cable gland. Insert the Ethernet cable(s) through the slit(s) in the seal. The ring of silicon of the seal should face away from the cap nut.

    Step 5 Step 6
  7. Insert the cable(s) through the gland and the AH302 from the exterior. Provide enough cable for a service loop to allow the anchor to be removed and disconnected once cables are sealed with the gland.

Step 7 View of cable for service loop
  8. Fully seat the cable insert into the gland. The top of the seal should be flush with the top of the gland. Screw the cap nut onto the cable gland and tighten.
